Taylor Krippner is The Gymnastics Dietitian who provides nutrition tips for gymnasts

My name is Taylor Krippner. I am a former collegiate gymnast and current Registered Dietitian living in Houston, Texas with a passion for helping young gymnasts fuel for optimal health and performance .

I was once a little gymnast too. Growing up in the gymnastics world I had been struggling immensely with my nutrition. At the time, I thought I was doing the right thing. Little did I know that my goals were unhealthy and unrealistic. I didn't even understand what proper nutrition meant and used to focus more on my aesthetic appearance rather than my overall health/performance goals.

Being a young athlete, I relied on my busy parents for most of my childhood to feed me, pack lunches, and have them help me fuel for gymnastics. But they didn't TRULY know what I needed at such a young age. I am here to help parents understand what proper nutrition means for their young gymnast, so that they can fuel themselves for optimal health AND performance - and ultimately reach their biggest goals. I help gymnastics parents who are confused with nutrition or are struggling with fueling their child, and lead them to grow confident in themselves in providing the right meals and snacks for their gymnast.

About Me

I was born and raised in the great city of Houston, TX and started gymnastics at the age of three. Fourteen years later I was blessed with the opportunity to compete as a Division One NCAA gymnast in the SEC for Auburn University.

As a young gymnast I struggled with fueling my body adequately through proper nutrition. As I grew older and my goals became bigger, I made a change in my dietary habits and realized the incredible impact nutrition can have in producing optimal results in both performance and overall health.

After graduating from Auburn (War Eagle!) I later went to grad school at Texas Woman's University and received my Masters degree in Nutrition. I then completed a 1200 hour internship and passed the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentialing exam. After becoming an RDN I decided to combine both my passion for gymnastics and nutrition to develop my own private practice and become The Gymnastics Dietitian.

The Gymnastics Dietitian

I am dedicated to teaching both gymnasts and parents of gymnasts how to fuel for optimal performance and health with ease and confidence. Whether your child is aiming for Olympic gold, getting a college scholarship, or just enjoying the sport of gymnastics, I am motivated to play a part in helping your child attain their personal victory.

When working with me you will understand not only what a gymnast should be eating, but when to eat, and why gymnasts need to make the nutritional changes they make. I focus on teaching a simple and realistic approach, so that both parents and gymnasts can easily make changes to fit their own unique lifestyle. This includes learning how to make quick performance-based meals, snacks, and create an easy to follow fueling plan .

Although nutrition education is extremely important, I also teach how to talk to a gymnast about food + body image. This is a delicate subject that could influence negative eating behaviors throughout life if not taught appropriately at a young age. So I ensure parents will feel confident in their approach to talk to their gymnast, and I ensure that the gymnast feels confident in their relationship with food + body.
